After enrolling on the Approved Driving Instructors Course you will receive a Home Study Pack from Freetrain consisting of 100 multiple choice questions. These can be studied and completed at home in your own time enabling you to work around your current commitments.

Once you have completed the 100 question home study pack, you return the marking sheet to your Personal Trainer who will then mark it and give you feedback. Your Personal Trainer will supply you with your next 100 questions and this process will continue until your Theory training is complete. The explanatory “Why Packs” will also be available to assist in your studies.

STUDYING FOR THE HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST

Your Personal Trainer is fully qualified to guide, train and advise to enable you to pass the Hazard Perception Test. In addition you will receive computer training covering all aspects. Hazard Perception is something which will feature greatly in the future when dealing with learner drivers as a Qualified Driving Instructor, in the early stages of tuition a pupil rarely sees or identifies potential hazards. So much depends on the perceptive skills of the Instructor to ensure safety at all times.

ONGOING TRAINING FOR THE THEORY EXAM

Although our training programme specifies a two hour training session for the Theory Test, we have a policy of Ongoing Training at this stage enabling you to pass the Theory Exam with the minimum of delay. Our aim is to get you up and running on the way to becoming a Qualified Driving Instructor as soon as possible so training is unrestricted at this stage.

Many of our competitors allow only a limited period of instruction for the Theory Exam and extra training is charged for! Take care to note the contents of Training Packages when making the important decision of who to train with.

FURTHER SUPPORT

It is appreciated that some of the questions in the Part 1 Theory Test Pack may not be fully understood despite reading the “Why Pack” and other relevant publications. Do not worry, we have a telephone back-up service and you can be in touch with your Personal Trainer if any problems of this nature occur, the problems will be fully and speedily resolved.
